Why would the average person not believe that Africa (pics)? Beating disease with the mobile phone doctor

My best friend recently married and her husband is from The Gambia, Africa. Well of course he is in need of his green card but his wife has a few misdemeanors on her criminal background. He was told that if he or his wife has anything on their background then he will not be able to get his green card by marriage. I looked around the USCIS website and could not find any evidence to support this statement. Does anyone have any knowledge or advice on this matter?

They are generally a lot more concerned about the criminal history of the intending immigrant then that of the petitioner..
It doesn’t look like there is even a line for the petitioner to list out convictions, but there is a place on one of the forms for the immigrant to list out convictions..
They are most concerned with crimes of “moral turpitude”..
I’m not sure what your friends misdemeanors are for..
I would venture to say that it probably is not hopeless..
Not once during the immigration process was I asked about my conviction history, I was the petitioner in my husbands immigration case. He was the immigrant and was asked several times and needed police clearances while I needed nothing of the sort..
If he had misdemeanors, then it would be a much bigger issue..
